IWPG is an international NGO registered with the United Nations ECOSOC and DGC, and is actively working to realize sustainable peace and security, expand women's participation in peace processes around the world, and build solidarity among women. We are also continuously carrying out various activities to realize a peaceful world without war, so that we can pass on peace to our descendants as a legacy.
The International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) Global Director Cho Baek-ri held an online ceremony to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the 'International Women's Peace Day' on April 27th at 8pm (KST). The ceremony was held under the theme of 'Realizing the Peace the World Needs' and was attended by 100 women leaders from 11 countries including South Korea, Japan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan, Mexico, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Albania and North Macedonia.
IWPG designates April 26th every year as "World Women's Peace Day" and promotes the "World Women's Peace Declaration" to emphasize that women around the world should come together to end war and realize world peace. In addition, IWPG supports and promotes the "Global Village Peace Declaration to End War" (DPCW) to be submitted as a resolution to the United Nations.
Global Director Cho Baek-ri said, "The global village is currently in the midst of ceaseless wars, with countless lives being sacrificed and many women and children suffering. The global village needs a new international law to end wars and guarantee peace. HWPL (Heaven's Culture World Peace and Restoration), a peace cooperation organization, is promoting and supporting the DPCW as the answer to realizing peace, and IWPG is working together to get the DPCW into law."
In her congratulatory speech, Sanem Arikan, Director General of Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said, "I realized that I had not been working for world peace until I took IWPG's Women's Peace Lecturer Training Program (PLTE). Terrorism, war, and genocide continue to occur today, with children and women in particular suffering the most. HWPL's DPCW will be submitted to the United Nations to be enacted into new international law to prevent war, and I actively support it. I applaud IWPG's many efforts to date."
Nadine Azad, president of WWF India (Working Women's Forum), said, "We celebrate the fifth anniversary of International Women's Peace Day. Women's organizations should support each other's work through cooperation and solidarity to lay the foundations for sustainable peace. We hope to create a world in which all women can realize their potential and contribute to a harmonious future."
Saurle, a participant from Kazakhstan, said, "I was impressed by the scale of this event and the sincerity of the participants in support of world peace. I have invited my friends to this wonderful peace event and expressed my gratitude and thoughts to IWPG and the participants.
